Home lab field notes

Small measurements, kept useful.

Metrion is a compact record of sensor tests, ESP32 experiments, power measurements, and monitoring work around a small home laboratory. Notes are written for repeatability rather than presentation.

Latest notes

  1. SHT41 calibration against a simple reference setup
Offset checks, chamber improvised from household parts, and what was worth correcting.
  2. ESP32 deep-sleep power: measuring the parts that still consume
Board-level current measurements, regulator losses, and wake-up intervals.
  3. Exporting home sensor metrics to Prometheus
A deliberately small text endpoint and a few rules for metric names.
  4. Long I²C lines: slowing down before adding hardware
Cable layout, pull-ups, bus frequency, and error counts from a noisy run.

Scope

The project stays intentionally narrow: measurements, wiring decisions, firmware fragments, and enough context to reproduce a result months later.
